Yew Tree Cottage

The village of Westow is the perfect place to stay if you want a bit of peace and quiet in the Yorkshire countryside. The village is home to a great pub, The Blacksmiths Arms, and is situated right on the edge of the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, also home to one of the area’s most beautiful historic houses. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is 2.5 miles away, and the area around this attraction is packed with gorgeous walking routes.
You’ll also be in a fantastic spot to head out and explore some other areas in the region. Whitby is about 24 miles away; head for a day at the seaside, then come back to your peaceful cottage and snuggle up with your loved one. What could be better?
Facilities: This one-bedroom cottage is perfectly equipped for couples. The bedroom is on a mezzanine floor but is surprisingly spacious. You’ll find plenty of storage space for clothes and books, and the bed itself is very comfortable. Downstairs, there’s a well-stocked kitchen, with everything you need to cook or prepare meals.
The living area is comfy and cosy, with both a TV and a lovely fireplace. Borrow a book from the shelf or put a film on. Guests also have access to a private garden, which has a little table and chairs. Put the kettle on and have your morning cup of tea outside in the sun!
22 Hallgarth

22 Hallgarth is a beautiful cottage right in the heart of Pickering. You can be relaxing in a pub garden or roaming around the castle in just a few minutes, as all the main amenities in the town are within easy walking distance from the property. Head out on foot to explore the market town, or hop in the car to head slightly further afield.
Spend a day at the traditional seaside town of Scarborough. With its amusement arcade and beautiful coastal path, it’s got something for everyone. Alternatively, take a short drive to Dalby Forest and get active on the thrilling tree-top high-ropes course. It’s fun for all the family!
Facilities: This three-bedroom cottage has enough room for up to eight guests. Two of the bedrooms have a double bed and a single day bed, and there’s a regular double bedroom with an en suite bathroom too. In addition, there’s a family bathroom with a rainfall showerhead, ideal for washing away the grime after a day of walking.
The spacious kitchen has a beautiful appearance and is stocked with everything you need to cook: pots, pans, plates, cups, plus a nice big oven. Sunday roast, anyone? Facilities: If you like a bit of character when booking holiday cottages, The Sidings is an ideal choice. This Grade II–listed building has previously been both a public house and a bakery. Today, it retains traditional elements but has been renovated into a comfortable cottage.
The property sleeps up to six guests. There are two double bedrooms and one twin room on the top floor. You’ll find original beams throughout the cottage, and the exterior has a gorgeous stone-wall appearance.
The kitchen is well stocked and contains a nice dining table, but you could also head outside to enjoy the private patio area with a picnic table. The garden is a real sun trap, so it’s an ideal place to sit and relax if the weather is good! The living room is also very comfortable, with lovely old-fashioned armchairs and a nice sofa all gathered around the fireplace. Curl up with a book and a blanket, and spend your evenings relaxing.
