This beautifully decorated property is located in the heart of Aldeburgh, a popular seaside town on the Suffolk coast in East Anglia, just a short drive from Southwold. Dogs are regrettably not allowed on the main stretch of beach during the summer months, but for the rest of the year, they are very welcome. Sizewell Beach is just a stone’s throw away from Aldeburgh and is a beautiful beach that welcomes dogs all year round.
For those looking to get out and about with their furry friend, there is a lovely footpath from the Wentworth Hotel in Aldeburgh all the way to Thorpeness which you can walk your dog along any time of year. A short drive will take you to the beautiful seaside town of Southwold, Suffolk. With its arcade games on Southwold Pier, many shops and boutiques, as well as numerous cafes, pubs and restaurants, there is something for all members of the family to explore. Great for: A beautiful cottage with a superb dog-friendly garden
This warm and inviting cottage is situated in the centre of pretty Friston, close to the towns of Aldeburgh and Saxmundham in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Just a short walk away, you will find yourself at the traditional pub ‘The Old Chequers’ with its log burner, and due to the fact that it’s dog friendly, it is a winner amongst dog lovers. You’ll be pleased to know that the cottage is also just a short drive away from Helmingham Hall which is the location for the Annual Suffolk Dog Day, a great day out for all the family, and a must for you and your dogs!

Great for: An intimate holiday cottage in a desirable location, just a short stroll from the beautiful Thorpeness Beach
This property is located in the gorgeous seaside village of Thorpeness, which is dominated by its beautiful lake where you can take out one of the many boats that are available to hire and explore the many ‘Fairytale Islands’. There is also a large shingle beach just moments away from the property, and while there are no facilities on the beach itself, you will find an array of kiosks and cafes in the village. More importantly, the beach welcomes dogs all year round, making it the perfect holiday destination for those looking for a pet friendly holiday.
There is plenty to do in the area for those looking for a more active holiday with footpaths, cycle tracks and coastal walkways on your doorstep. You can even take the attractive walk from Thorpeness to the seaside town of Aldeburgh and explore all it has to offer, with its bustling High Street and plentiful pet friendly pubs.

The comfortable accommodation sleeps two, making it the perfect retreat for a couple wanting to explore all that East Anglia has to offer. Despite its size, this property has everything you would need for your holiday, including a dishwasher and washing machine, a smart TV and Wi Fi. The sitting room offers superb views out across The Meare, while the well equipped kitchen leads out onto the rear patio with its outdoor table and chairs, all ready for a day relaxing in the sun. There is even a second patio at the front of the property, meaning you can always catch the sun while having your cup of tea, no matter what the time of day.
The fact that it will also accept pets is an added bonus, as this property provides the ideal base for your holiday.
The Old Custom House
Location: Blythburgh, Suffolk
Great for: A superb cottage within walking distance of the stunning village of Walberswick and with views over the Blyth Estuary
The Old Custom House is located in the heart of Blythburgh village, close to the picturesque coastal towns of Southwold and Walberswick, which make for wonderful day trips for the whole family. Visit Southwold Pier, try your hand at a spot of crabbing in Walberswick or grab an ice cream and enjoy the wonderful beaches. Walberswick Beach welcomes dogs even in the summer months, and Southwold has a dedicated dog beach during the summer months towards the south end of the beach, meaning your dog can enjoy the sand between its paws on holiday too!
A little further afield, you will find the National Trust’s Dunwich Heath, which is another beautiful dog walking hot spot through the wonderful swaths of purple heather. For wildlife lovers, you can also visit the nearby RSPB Minsmere, which is a lovely bird sanctuary with several bird hides and a lovely cafe.

It has a beautiful farmhouse style kitchen that is fully equipped and leads into a formal dining room with a large wooden table that can seat six guests comfortably, perfect for hosting lavish dinner parties. The large sitting room is cosy with its comfortable sofas all seated around the woodburning stove, making it the perfect place to retreat to with a good book on those cold evenings. There are three bedrooms – three king rooms – making it perfect for larger families or groups of friends.
Outside, you will find a beautiful mature garden that wraps around the cottage along with a lovely vegetable patch and plenty of seating areas for you to enjoy al fresco dining in the warmer months.
Holly Cottage
Location: Framlingham, Suffolk
Great for: A 19-century holiday cottage in a bustling market town
This 19th Century traditional flint cottage is in the idyllic location in the heart of the busy market town of Framlingham. The cottage is located just a stone’s throw away from all the local amenities that Framlingham has to offer, including plenty of shops, restaurants and wonderful sights to see. The ancient Framlingham Castle dates back to the 1100s and is now part of English Heritage, making for the perfect family day out.
