This charming stone cottage is set within 30 acres of the owners’ private grounds, close to the charming Peak District village of Wincle on the South West edge of the National Park. The village is home to The Ship Inn, a family-friendly pub serving superb locally sourced food and which is just a short walk from the cottage. With an array of footpaths and walking trails on your doorstep along with plenty of dog friendly attractions, Otters Retreat is the perfect base from which to explore this lovely location with your furry friends.

If you’re looking for a more relaxed way to spend your time in the Peak District, why not drive 18 miles and visit the outstanding Chatsworth House? The children will simply love the farmyard and playground. Alternatively, visit the nearby picturesque towns of Leek or Buxton, both of which have plenty to offer the whole family, including independent shops, bars, cafes and even dog friendly pubs.

Facilities: This stunning two bedroom self-catering cottage in the Peak District sleeps up to four guests. Both bedrooms have king-size beds and en suite wet rooms. The cottage has been recently restored, providing comfortable, spacious and contemporary accommodation. The sitting room is large and has been renovated to keep many of its traditional features, including a fantastic inglenook fireplace with a log burner, making it the perfect place to sit and relax after a busy day exploring Derbyshire. There is a large dining area that can seat eight, making it the perfect place to host a dinner party. The modern, fully equipped kitchen also has everything that you might need during your stay.

This beautiful traditional stone building is located in the heart of Bakewell, often referred to as the Capital of the Peak District. With so much to see in the town itself, you will not be short of activities. From the monthly farmers’ market to walking the Monsal Trail, there is something for the whole family in the Peak District. Haddon Hall and the Medieval Park is located on the doorstep and would be well worth a visit, and the fairy tale castle will be particularly enjoyed by the children.

Within driving distance from Church Cottage, you will find the exhilarating rides of Alton Towers, the stunning stately home of Chatsworth House and the impressive caverns at Castleton.

Facilities: This stunning end of terrace cottage is set over three floors and can accommodate up to six guests, making it the perfect property for your next family holiday or a get together with a group of friends. With two sitting rooms, one with a wood burner, and its very own cinema, there are plenty of places for you to sit and relax after a busy day exploring the area. Great for: A unique countryside escape perfect for a romantic getaway to the countryside

This wonderful property is located on the outskirts of the charming village of Wincle in the Dane Valley. Bordered by a bluebell wood with rookery there are plenty of walking trails to explore and endless wildlife to see. You can visit the nearby picturesque towns of Leek or Buxton, both of which have plenty to offer the whole family, including independent shops, bars, cafes and even dog friendly pubs. You will also find the stunning stately home of Chatsworth House nearby which makes a great day out for all the family.

Facilities: The Shepherd’s Crook is a wonderful, heated hut that is located in a beautiful countryside location within its very own stone circle! It offers a truly experience in total privacy. The sleeping area is light and airy with a comfortable double bed, bedside tables, reading lights and wonderful views out into the countryside. The modern kitchen area has a built-in microwave, hob and fridge and there is also an ensuite bathroom with shower, toilet and sink.

Outside there is a wonderful outdoor seating area for you to enjoy some al fresco dining while taking in the wonderful sights, sounds and smells of the countryside. There is also a beautiful summer house which is like a separate sitting room – a great place to sit and relax after a busy day exploring the local area. This gorgeous property is located in the picturesque village of Beeley, nestled in the beautiful Derwent Valley in the Derbyshire Dales, just a stone’s throw from the Chatsworth Estate. Within this wonderful Peak District scenery there are plenty of riverside footpaths to explore directly from the cottage, or you can follow the walkway to the neighbouring village of Rowsley, where you can enjoy a fantastic meal at the Grouse and Claret pub before making your way home. The stunning town of Bakewell is also just 3 miles away and well worth a visit.

For more active guests, there are plenty of walking or cycle routes that are all accessible from the cottage including the Derwent Valley Cycle Way, the Monsal Trail and the Rowsley Bar Hill Climb. Ash cottage is a picturesque cottage nestled in stunning countryside, located in the pretty village of Baslow. It is through this village that the parklands of the Chatsworth Estate are accessed, and it’s situated on the banks of the delightful River Derwent. The stunning Chatsworth Park is accessed directly from the village over the beautiful 17th Century Packhorse Bridge and makes for a wonderful day out for all the family with plenty to explore and discover, including the house, beautiful gardens, farmyard, playground and exhibition spaces. Mary Queen of Scots stayed at the stately home several times during the 1570s, and her quarters, which became known as the Mary Queen of Scots rooms, are now one of the most popular features of the house.

If you are looking for something more active, there are plenty of beautiful walks and cycle routes that can be accessed directly from the village and would make the perfect day out with your canine companion.
