- Trebarwith Strand – Located on the North Cornish Coast Trebarwith Strand is often considered one of the best beaches in Cornwall. A beautiful sandy beach with rock pools, incredible surf and golden sand, it really is the perfect beach for the whole family. There are wonderful walks around the coast path, as well as great places to eat and drink, most of which also welcome dogs!
- Gorran Haven Beach – This beautiful beach is just a few miles from St Austell and offers another sandy beach for you and your four-legged friend to enjoy. There is a small harbour cove at one end of the beach and a lovely village to the rear. It is a wonderful family-friendly beach with everything you might need and direct links up onto the coast path for some fantastic dog walking trails. It’s not hard to see why Gorran Haven is one of our favourite dog-friendly beaches in the area.
- Daymer Bay Beach – This superb dog-friendly beach in North Cornwall has a long stretch of sand but is also backed by wonderful sand dunes that your dog will love to explore. One of our favourite beaches in Cornwall which also welcomes dogs, it’s comparatively off the beaten track compared to its neighbours, Rock and Polzeath beaches, providing a bit more of a secluded feel. It’s a real hidden gem! From one end of the beach, you will see stunning views sprawling out all around you, and the car park also has a lovely grassy picnic area where you can enjoy your lunch while taking in the incredible scenery. This is a definite must-visit if you are staying in North Cornwall.
- Holywell Bay Beach – A few miles out of Newquay in North Cornwall you will come to this stunning dog-friendly beach. This long stretch of sandy beach that is backed by high sand dunes offers your dog plenty of space to stretch their legs as well as lots to sniff and explore. Surrounded by steep cliffs with golden sands, caves and streams to adventure around, your canine companion will love this dog-friendly beach as much as you.

Great for: Visiting Newquay or the dog-friendly beaches of north Cornwall
Crantock Beach is just a few minutes’ walk away from this park and boasts miles of sandy beaches as well as some of Cornwall’s best attractions. Head just a few miles up the road to the bustling beach town of Newquay with its shops, bars and restaurants; you can even visit the famous Newquay Zoo.
Facilities: A great holiday park for families, you’ll find a broad range of facilities onsite. With the beach located just 400m away, as well as an amusement arcade, nine-hole crazy golf, superb kids clubs and a great adventure playground, there really is something for everyone (and every dog) at Parkdean Resorts Crantock Beach.
Cregoes
Location: Mylor, Cornwall
Great for: A property with a sensational sea view in a pretty marina location with a dog-friendly beach
This wonderful Cornish cottage, located right on the shoreline in Mylor and just a short stroll from the marina which is nestled on the banks of the River Fal, is Cregoes. Mylor Yacht Harbour is a pretty working harbour with sweeping panoramic river views and is surrounded by endless coastal paths for you to explore. There is an onsite cafe and restaurant, both of which are dog friendly, so you can sit and relax after a busy day on the beaches and coastal walking trails. Opposite Roseland Peninsula and close to Falmouth Bay, this property is in such an idyllic and peaceful location, perfect for friends and family looking for a tranquil escape to the coast.
Facilities: With four bedrooms, this property is ideal for larger groups or families and can accommodate up to eight guests. The kitchen is the heart of the home with its working AGA and cooker, along with a small cosy table seating four. This leads directly out onto the formal dining area with a much larger table that can easily accommodate eight alongside stunning views out onto the marina, making it perfect for dinner parties.
Outside, there is a large front and rear garden, with an area for al fresco dining and a BBQ to the rear as well as a picnic table and chairs to the front. That means you can relax in the sun all day long. Offering off-road parking for three cars, and being a pet-friendly property, Cregoes is a true gem of a Cornish cottage.

Location: Port Isaac, Cornwall
Great for: A beautiful cottage located in a pretty harbour town surrounded by fabulous dog-friendly beaches
Located in Port Isaac, made famous by the TV series Doc Martin, this fantastic holiday accommodation is perfectly located to explore North Cornwall. With sandy beaches and stunning countryside right on your doorstep, there is something for everyone to enjoy with a stay at The Old Dairy. Additionally, there are plenty of stunning dog-friendly beaches nearby, so your four-legged friends can enjoy everything Cornwall has to offer with you.
Facilities: This lovely cottage has three bedrooms and can accommodate up to 7 guests, making it ideal for families or a group of friends looking to explore the north coast of Cornwall. The cottage has all the appliances and facilities that you would expect including a dishwasher and a washing machine to make your holiday chores a little easier. Inside, the cottage retains many of its original features, including stained glass windows, original hardwood floorboards and bay windows to provide a cosy and relaxing atmosphere. Spend the evening catching up with friends in the comfortable living room in front of the wood-burning stove, or head to the snug and catch up on a good book.
Outside, you’ll find a beautiful private garden with plenty of outdoor furniture so you and your guests can enjoy some al fresco dining in the evenings. It’s not hard to see why this is one of our favourite holiday cottages close to a dog-friendly beach in Cornwall.
Gwithian Lookout
Location: Gwithian, Cornwall
Great for: A stunning cottage in A prime position with direct sea views across the dog-friendly Godrevy Beach and out to the lighthouse
This is one of our favourite coastal cottages primarily for the fact you can walk barefoot straight out of the cottage, across the sand dunes and right onto the golden sands of Godrevy Beach. Dogs are welcome at this beach all year round, although not between 10am-6pm in July and August. Despite the seasonal ban, you and your canine companion are still welcome to enjoy an early morning or sunset walk. Close to St Ives harbour and not far from the beautiful beaches of Porthmeor Beach and Porthminster Beach, this would be the ideal base from which to explore the north Cornish coast.
Facilities: Ideally suited for a couple or small group of family and friends, this Cornish cottage has three bedrooms and can accommodate up to 5 guests. The open plan living space is centred around the view – with vaulted ceilings and large walls of glass windows to maximise the incredible light and sensational sea views. A huge corner sofa and footstool provide plenty of comfortable seating for everyone, and the corner wood-burning stoves ensure everyone is nice and cosy on colder nights. The open-plan kitchen is modern, stylish and equipped with everything you might need, including an induction hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer and microwave.
Enormous sliding glass doors lead outside to the private terrace that’s beautifully finished with a Cornish wall crafted from local stone. There is an outdoor dining table and chairs, so you can dine al fresco and enjoy the incredible views. From the terrace, the communal grassy area leads to the road and pathways directly down to the beach.
