Fancy a break to Britain’s best holiday spot in 2013? Then head to Cornwall, which has scooped the top prize of ultimate destination at the annual British Travel Awards.
The region dominated the prizes and also picked up first place prizes for favourite attraction, town and tourist guide website.
Cornwall is crowned Best Holiday County for the fourth consecutive year, while St Ives collected the accolade for Best Coastal Town for the third time. Prizes were also awarded to the Eden Project, which claimed Gold for Best Leisure Attraction and the Minack Theatre, which won the Bronze trophy for Best Heritage Attraction.

Other notable destination winners were the Lake District (find out more about holiday parks in the Lake District), which collected a Silver award, and Yorkshire (see our caravan parks in Yorkshire), which picked up the Bronze prize.
Also named among the winners were BreakFree favourites Haven, Parkdean and Butlins, who won the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards for Best UK Holiday Park Operator.
