What’s new in Cornwall for 2014?
There’s much excitement among our attractions with the Porthcurno Telegraph Museum undergoing some major improvement works, Cornwall’s Crealy Adventure Park launching a new area especially for under fives, and a new family-friendly cycling trail on the Lanhydrock Estate.

What are you most excited about?
Cornwall has a new all-star billing in its bulging events calendar this year, in the shape of the Falmouth to Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Regatta 2014. Over 30 Tall Ships from around the world will arrive in Falmouth for three days of festivities from 28 to 30 August before the magnificent Parade of Sail and race start on the 31st.

Expect spectacular sights, shoreside activities and unique opportunities to peek below deck! www.falmouthtallships.co.uk

Can you recommend somewhere to see or something to visit that is less well known or not on the usual tourist trail?
Kynance Cove on The Lizard is well worth seeking out. The turquoise water and golden beach comes into view as you head down the cliff path and there’s a great little cafe where you can soak up the mesmerizing views. Make sure you time it right – at high tide the beach is under water!

If someone is visiting for a short break, what are the 3 things they must see?
The Eden Project is still a firm favourite and always has something new going on. The famous biomes attract visitors from around the world and offer an ingenious mix of education and fun.

A visit to St Ives is also not to be missed. Its flair for art and independent style makes it stand out as one of the most character filled harbour towns in Cornwall.

I also love St Michael’s Mount. Strolling across the causeway is a memorable Cornish experience.

Is there anything else you would like to tell us about Cornwall in 2014?
2014 looks set to be the year that Cornwall really showcases its cultural side. We have some fantastic museums, galleries, art schools, theatres and music venues, and of course Cornish Mining World Heritage Site Status, and all this creates a unique culture which really sets us part from other destinations.
