Cornwall is swinging to the sounds of free festivals throughout June. We asked Julia Hughes of Visit Cornwall to tell us about some of her favourites.

Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival
This fantastic free festival of maritime music is a great way to soak up the true atmosphere of Falmouth’s seafaring past and features performances by dozens of groups from all the UK and beyond.

Golowan Festival
Penzance’s community celebrates the traditional Feast of St. John with a festival that has a packed programme of artists in celebration of music, performing arts and theatre. Events include a fireworks display on the prom, Mazey Day, spectacular parades through the streets and a host of street entertainment.

Fowey Mussel Festival
Traditional entertainment, seafood cooking demonstrations, cooking competitions, pirates, plays, treasure hunts and hopefully sunshine are all present at this Fowey Festival. And, of course, there are Fowey River Mussels in abundance.

Eden Sessions
Dizzee Rascal, Skrillex and Ellie Goulding headline the famous Eden Project for top-class entertainment under the stars.

Looe Festival of Food and Drink
The Looe Festival of Food and Drink showcases local produce and local suppliers, allowing visitors to the area to enjoy and sample a true taste of Cornwall and introducing diverse suppliers and produce to the locals.
