Great for: A perfect dog-friendly property with spectacular countryside views and luxury furnishings
This wonderful dog-friendly accommodation is located on the outskirts of Bamburgh and has beautiful countryside views out towards the magnificent Bamburgh Castle. The picturesque village has an excellent local pub, several restaurants and a small selection of village shops, so you will have all the amenities on hand that you might need during your stay. The property is close to the Northumberland coast which means there are plenty of opportunities for you and your canine companion to spend your days enjoying the lovely sandy beaches or out on wonderful dog walks exploring the rolling hills.
Facilities: The interior of Cowslip has a light and airy feel with high-quality furnishings and tasteful decor. It really is a real home away from home. There are three bedrooms, one of which has two bunk beds, so the property is able to accommodate up to eight guests, making it the perfect place for larger families or groups of friends. The open-plan living area has plenty of seating for you to enjoy a relaxing evening with friends and family after a busy day, whilst the warming wood burner keeps you warm and cosy. The modern kitchen is fully fitted to the highest standard with all the appliances you could possibly need in order to rustle up a delicious home-cooked meal for all your guests.
Outside, you will find plenty of off-road parking and a decking area with outdoor seating ready for you to enjoy the warm summer evenings. Glenander
Location: Bamburgh, Northumberland
Great for: A stunning holiday home in heart of the pretty Northumberland village of Bamburgh.
Located right in the heart of the beautiful village of Bamburgh, this property is perfectly located for your next family holiday to the Northumberland Coast. Just a few minutes’ walk from a variety of shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as being just a stone’s throw from the magnificent Bamburgh Castle, there really is something for everyone to enjoy here.
Within walking distance from the property, you can enjoy a tour of the RNLI Grace Darling Museum or venture down to Bamburgh’s award-winning beach which offers excellent surfing as well as a long stretch of golden sands for the children to enjoy. The beach is also dog-friendly meaning that your furry friend doesn’t have to miss out on all the fun. For the more active members in your group, you will find a number of superb countryside walks as well as plenty of cycle routes, many of which can be accessed directly from the village. A holiday at Glenander really does have something for the whole family!
Facilities: This spacious cottage is set over three floors and can accommodate up to 10 people in five bedrooms, making it the ideal base for a large family or group of friends. There is a lovely sitting room with plenty of comfortable seating – the perfect place to sit, relax and unwind with friends after a busy day exploring the local area. The light and modern kitchen has all the appliances you would expect from a self-catering property of this standard, including a Range cooker with double electric ovens, a hob and a microwave. There is also a washing machine, tumble dryer and most importantly, a dishwasher – you are on holiday after all!
Outside, you will find an enclosed patio with plenty of outside seating ready for you to enjoy al fresco dining during the warmer months. There is also a private enclosed garden to the front of the property that has more outside seating and ensures a safe place for your dogs to explore.
Dodds Nook
Location: Alnwick, Northumberland
Great for: A beautiful dog-friendly cottage in the heart of Alnwick
Located on a quiet residential street in the heart of Alnwick, Dodds Nook provides the ideal location from which to explore this popular market town. Despite its quiet location, the cottage is just a short stroll away from the town centre and close to all the amenities that Alnwick has to offer. Alnwick’s market square plays host to a huge selection of market stalls every Saturday and there are also plenty of places to eat in town if you feel like taking a break from the cooking. If you’re lucky enough to be visiting during September, you could even find yourself enjoying some superb delights at the annual Alnwick Food Festival.
There are many other towns and villages to explore nearby, including Alnmouth, where your guests can walk, cycle or even horse ride along some of the most dramatic landscapes in the country. Take a picnic with you and stop off at one of the stunning and secluded beaches on the way to really appreciate this area of outstanding natural beauty. Plan a visit to Hadrian’s wall or explore the famous Alnwick garden nearby.

Sleeping up to four guests in two bedrooms, Dodds Nook is the perfect place for a small family to enjoy their holiday in Northumberland. The stunning open-plan living space offers a wonderful refuge for you to rest and relax after a busy day exploring the Northumberland National Park. With comfortable sofas and a large TV with Wi-Fi, you will be sure to have all the entertainment you might need during your stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances and mod cons, including a dishwasher, microwave and even a Nespresso Coffee Machine, essential for that caffeine hit before hitting the hiking trails.
You will find the local pub is just a short amble away from the cottage, and it makes the perfect place for a pre-dinner drink. In warmer months, you can even enjoy your dinner right outside the cottage, as there is a private courtyard complete with outdoor seating. Low Croft
Location: Embleton, Northumberland

Low Croft is an appealing cottage located on North Farm near Embleton, with incredible views of the Northumbrian coastline. It’s one of our favourite holiday cottages, but it’s especially perfect for those dog-friendly holidays too! North Farm was once a busy working farm and is now home to a group of tastefully decorated holiday cottages, with many local attractions on its doorstep. Explore Alnwick Castle and Gardens or Hadrian’s Wall, then visit Holy Island, Bamburgh or Berwick, which are all within easy reach of the property. There really is something for the whole family to enjoy. If you are looking for a more relaxing way to spend your time, just head to one of the many stunning beaches to sunbathe on the soft sands while the children build sandcastles or explore the rock pools.
Facilities: This spacious cottage offers accommodation for up to six guests in three bedrooms. There is a large sitting room with plenty of comfortable seating and a large TV with Freeview, making it the ideal place to spend an evening relaxing with friends after a busy day exploring the National Park. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances you might need during your stay, including a large range oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

The small attractive village of Lowick is ideally placed for a holiday in Northumberland. With two excellent local pubs – both dog-friendly spots where you can sample wonderful homecooked food – as well as a fantastic village shop that is stocked with all the essentials you might need during your stay, Lowick is the ideal base for exploring all that the area has to offer. From the property, you have easy access to Berwick-upon-Tweed and Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve, not to mention Holy Island, so there are endless places for you and your guests to explore.
