Whether enjoying quality time with your toddler or whisking the grandkids off on a getaway, here are six reasons why a holiday park is the perfect choice.
- Flexibility: toddlers have their own timetable and they’ll want to run around when you eat, nap when you head down to the beach, and play with friends when you’re ready to relax. So isn’t it wonderful when you can eat at times to suit you (hello 3pm lunch followed by 9pm dinner) or take 40 winks without worrying that the cleaner hasn’t been in yet. Self-catering in a static caravan makes it easy to stay in control of your day.
- Toddler friendly fun: so your tot won’t be swimming lengths yet and they’re as happy climbing a set of steps as a cargo rope, but it’s good to know that most holiday parks have lifeguarded pools, shallow paddling areas, kids clubs for under 5s and indoor play areas when the weather is playing tricks.
- Tot friendly accommodation: with small single beds and space for travel cots, no steep steps, soft floors and everything on one floor, there are very few ways baby – even the most active of babies – can get into scrapes and bumps, no matter how hard they try!
- Restaurants and facilities that are used to little ones: arriving at a restaurant that doesn’t have a stock of high chairs, or heading to the restrooms for a nappy change only to find that there are no baby change facilities, isn’t much fun. Holiday parks are geared to families, so you can always be assured of a friendly welcome, a high chair and easy access to a changing table.
- Travel extras to help reduce luggage: once you’ve crammed your boot with a high chair, travel cot, steam steriliser, play mat, baby bath, pushchair and the full assortment of items we need for a day looking after your little one, you’ll realise there’s not much space left for anything else. So being able to book baby-essential items to be supplied by the holiday park for the duration of your break really does make life easier. Most holiday parks allow you to book travel cots and high chairs for the duration of your stay.
- Handy shops selling the bits you forgot to bring: badminton sets, a 6-pack of beer or postcards to send home are all very well, but when you are travelling with young children you need an on-site shop that stocks a supply of nappies, powdered milk or baby-friendly medicine for emergencies. On-site shops at holiday parks are geared to families.
